Super Absorbent Company (SAC) acquired a North Carolina facility, which manufacturers the starch-based polymers for over twenty years. It is our goal to expand production in excess of four million pounds of product during 2006.
The largest and most impressive market for "Starch-Based Polymers" is agriculture, a potential of one hundred million pounds per year in the United States alone. Since we are the only plant in the US producing a starch-based polymer we have a head start in this industry.
SAC currently plans to equip the Lumberton, North Carolina plant with some new equipment to increase production. At a future date, we will be building a new plant with an initial capacity of five million pounds per year and the ability to increase that capacity to 15 to 20 million pounds per year.
Our mission is to expand the agricultural and horticultural markets both in the United States and abroad. We have numerous parties interested in foreign distribution of our Super-Hydro-Grow product.
We are in the process of creating new patents and patents pending as we move into other markets i.e. the diaper industry and the medical field. The diaper market consumes approximately five hundred million pounds of polymer per year in the United states. The polymer currently used is from a petroleum base and is not biodegradable or environmentally safe. Our starch based polymer is biodegradable, non-toxic and environmentally safe.
In the medical industry initial tests have shown that by refining our polymer to a higher degree, it can be used at wound centers around the world. We intend to pursue this market.
In addition to our basic products, we have a line of microbial blends which are being used as seed coatings for various crops. This product, when used in conjunction with Super-Hydro-Grow, provides the grower with greater germination and crop yields while reducing the use of fertilizers and other chemicals that are both costly and end up in our water tables.
It is our firm belief that becuase the market is so strong, we will develop greater capacity in North Carolina and consummate our new plant. Our products will be distributed, used and accepted as a standard in farm managment throughout the world. |
