Golf courses and sports fields must endure heavy traffic requiring top grade maintenance. The intensified use of chemicals places stress on the soil and turf, often requiring replacement. We recommend soil tests. Tests should be performed on each green. Tees should be tested in groups of 3 to 9. Since fairways, or other large spreads of turf grass, are often established on a variety of soils, separate tests are advised for each soil type. Tests will discover the need for various nutrients to balance the soils. At times, nutrients may be become bonded to soil components making them unavailable to plants.
