The Company manufactures and markets its family of water-management and growth-enhancement products under the trade name Super-Hydro-Grow. The products are manufactured for a wide array of applications utilizing a number of proprietary formulations. The core substance in Super-Hydro-Grow is starch. Super-Hydro-Grow is capable of absorbing up to 300 times its weight in water and water soluble plant nutrients. The essential process involves the synthetic grafting of a polymer to starch molecules. Such molecules contain two main parallel branches. When joined with the polymer, the addition of water to these molecules results in the creation of polar repulsion between the molecules’ branches. This, in turn, results in; drawing of the water between the molecular poles, swelling of the particles and absorption of the water. As plants use the water, the material shrinks and the molecular branches contract. The material then can absorb moisture as it did prior to the introduction of water.

The effect of this process is to generate a material that acts as a sponge capable of extremely high absorption rates that can subsequently release the water to the plant on demand without altering or affecting the nature of the moisture it absorbs. The product is capable of sustaining multiple “swell-shrink” cycles depending on the environment that it is used. Microorganisms present in the soil feed off the starch causing biodegradation. The by-product of such biodegradation of Super-Hydro-Grow functions to enrich the soil and enhance aeration. The action of Super-Hydro-Grow actually enhances soil conditions for growing. The life cycle of Super-Hydro-Grow is up to three years.
Absorbency rates are affected by a number of factors including other chemicals, additives or fertilizers used in conjunction with the product as well as correct application rates.
Effects and Benefits of Super-Hydro-Grow
Super-Hydro-Grow's principal effect in agricultural applications is to allow crops and plants to fully and consistently access sources of water not normally available. The predominant sources of moisture to plant life are:
1. Gravitational Water: Water that moves downward through the soil through the force of gravity and not normally available to plant life because of the speed with which it descends.
2. Capillary Water: Water held by molecular cohesion around soil particles in a thick film. Such moisture is normally attracted by low pressure created around root hairs of a plant that draw moisture from the surrounding soil until the attraction between soil and water molecules exceeds that of water and roots.
3. Hygroscopic Water: Water held in a thin film around soil particles not normally accessible by plant life.

Super-Hydro-Grow ensures that crops have a consistent and adequate supply of water on a continuous basis, rather than at intervals such as during scheduled irrigation or when crops already show signs of stress. The continuous access to moisture allows for optimal uniform growth. The primary benefits of the polymer’s use are summarized below:
* Reduction of Water Usage – Water usage is reduced and access is increased to all sources of water as described above. Water consumptions is reduced up to 50%.

The compound absorbs water soluble nutrients, minerals and microbial blends to assist growth and maximize yield. Such additives and chemicals are absorbed and released in the same manner as water. Plants therefore gain consistent access to systemic inputs thereby reducing quantities of additives needed and enhancing overall efficiency. The ability of Super-Hydro-Grow to hold water and additives against the pull of gravity allows reduction of soil additives up to 30%.
* Enhanced Plant Durability – The product improves germination and seeding rates, reduces plant stress and plant loss during transplanting and improves plant survival rates during critical development periods. Partially this is a result of increased soil aeration and the resulting increase of oxygen availability to plant roots. The increased aeration occurs as a result of expanded polymer forcing soil particles apart. Super-Hydro-Grow further reduces soil crusting by maintaining soil moisture resulting in enhanced seed penetration and higher rates of germination. Germination speeds 25% higher-than-normal have been documented by coating seeds with the product that is electrostatically-charged. In addition to ensuring constant and adequate moisture supply to seeds in an ameliorated soil environment, the coating also helps prevent seeds from insect damage. Fungal infections of seeds are also markedly reduced. |
